Problem Statement

Many individuals seeking to buy, sell, or rent properties are burdened by the hefty brokerage fees charged by traditional real estate agents. This brokerage system creates an unfair information asymmetry and adds unnecessary financial strain on the parties involved. Additionally, the process of finding a suitable property is often time-consuming and inefficient, requiring extensive travel and property visits. There is a need for a disruptive real estate platform that eliminates brokerage fees, provides verified listings directly from owners, and offers a user-friendly interface with comprehensive property information, enabling users to find their ideal homes quickly and without hassle.

Research Methodology

Competitive Analysis

To conduct a comprehensive competitive analysis, I undertook a research approach that entailed identifying and scrutinizing the different market competitors providing similar services. Employing Google as a resource, I discovered and assessed the most renowned and trusted websites catering to these services within the Indian market.

Following a thorough examination of the websites and an analysis of customer feedback gleaned from the Google Play Store, I successfully identified the top three companies that enjoy widespread usage among consumers for these services.

Having conducted a meticulous evaluation of each website, I created a comprehensive inventory outlining the strengths and weaknesses of every competitor. This encompassed a thorough analysis of various aspects, including user interface, service offerings, pricing, and customer reviews. By scrutinizing these factors, I discerned the overall strengths and weaknesses of each company.

  • Frustrations regarding discrepancies between actual property images and those displayed on websites or apps.

User Journey Map

To enhance comprehension of this website, a thorough user journey mapping study was conducted to identify user emotions, actions, reactions, and potential challenges. The objective was to uncover opportunities for providing improved solutions through the journey map.

Based on the user journey map, users encounter difficulties when searching for properties due to their limited knowledge of the localities, which generates concerns. In the decision phase, when faced with selecting among the best options, they experience confusion.

To address these challenges, users seek guidance from friends residing in the area to visit the property and assess its conditions, available services, rent price, upfront costs, and any brokerage fees. This visit serves as a crucial factor in their final rental decision, evoking various emotions throughout the process. Enhancements should be made to the user experience to simplify the journey for users.

Quantitative Analysis

Through a comprehensive survey targeting users from diverse regions, I gained valuable insights into the major challenges they face. The findings highlight the following key issues:

  • Communication Challenges
